Tralee Bay Holidays History

Our History

History
In 1984, our parents, Pauline and Brian Shellcock moved to Tralee Bay on the beautiful west coast of Scotland and bought Tralee Bay Caravan and Camping Park – a traditional 60s/70s campsite with tourers and tents. In 1990, we decided to concentrate on self-catering and closed the camping side of the business to focus on creating a self-catering holiday park, where people could come and relax, re-energise and enjoy what this beautiful area has to offer.

In 1993, we acquired the adjacent woodland, which enabled us to further develop the lodge side of the business and also create two lochans.

In 2009 we opened our award winning chip shop, which has been a big attraction for both guests on the park and from the local area.

Present Day

Over 3 generations of satisfied customers have happy memories of Tralee Bay Holidays and most continue to return today with children and grandchildren. As a family business, long-term commitment to customers and the area is integral to the running of the Tralee Bay Holidays, as well as personal service and attention to detail.

Tralee Bay Holidays now has over 120 units with over 33 lodges, 33 caravans and 50 private owners, and we employ 12 full time staff and 11 part time staff.

It feels today as if Tralee Bay has come full circle as in 2016,
we bought a 7-acre croft, a 2-minute walk from Tralee and have developed a caravan and glamping site with 50 pitches and 9 luxury glamping pods with hot tubs. This is our sister company Highfield Holidays.
